Young Shots

To encourage young people into the sport of clay target shooting, we hold special days for young shooters. The Young Shots Days are in partnership with the CPSA. The aim of YS days, are to provide high quality instruction, with a focus not only on providing a method to hit clay targets, but also on safety, responsibility and etiquette and of course, fun!

Young shots days are open to children up to the age of 16. We recommend a minimum age of 10 years for this event. Please contact us on 01353 648004 or info@cambridgegunclub.co.uk should you have any questions.

Young shots days include both clay shooting & air rifle shooting.

Cost is £50 per child. Lunch included within the price.

9:45am – 2:30pm

A brief overview of the young shots day :

• Youngsters will arrive at approximately 9:45
• The day starts with a safety brief from a CPSA qualified senior coach or instructor.
• The youngsters are then grouped (approximately 5 per group) – We group on ability normally, (any previous shooting experience) and ages/heights. (If friends book in together, they can be grouped together)
• The groups then go out to shoot. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast (and dress accordingly) as they will go out even if it is raining – unless torrential !!
• Note on Footwear – Obviously sensible shoes such as trainers, walking shoes/boots or wellies/boots if it’s raining. (Nothing open toed please).
• Instructors will then continue to demonstrate safety while out on the Range, and the group will shoot, following the “method” the instructors are teaching, to “hopefully” hit some targets.
• Break for lunch (allergies can be catered for, please let us know)
• Then back out for air rifle shooting
• Home – Finish time is expected to be between 14:00-14:30
